La participación en un programa de orientación es obligatoria.
El estudiante y su familia debe cumplir con la totalidad (el día completo) de La orientación para poder ser Gratuito.
La Bienvenida orientación es una orientación única en el estado de Washington. ¡La orientación es totalmente en español para ustedes familia y reúne a un grupo espectacular de colegas hispanohablantes que están en la mejor disposición para darle a su familia una gran BIENVENIDA! Queremos que nuestra comunidad hispanohablante extienda su conocimiento sobre cómo funciona el sistema en Washington State University. Sabemos, que el éxito de sus hijos es tan importante para ustedes como lo es para nosotros. Por tal razón, trabajaremos en equipo para servirles, ayudarles y apoyarles en su camino universitario.
Estamos muy emocionados de poder brindarles La Bienvenida , orientación llena de programas y de servicios que los van a ayudar a identificar el apoyo para sus hijos en esta nueva etapa; y ofrecer ese sentimiento de familia que trae “La Bienvenida”.
La bienvenida ofrece talleres entre esos se incluyen:
- Ayuda Financiera 101 (FAFSA y WASFA) Entendiendo tu Paquete Financiera: Padres, tendrán la oportunidad de entender el proceso de la ayuda financiera. Además, podrán realizar una cita con un consejero bilingüe.
- Feria de recursos y programas : Tendrá la posibilidad de hablar con diferentes representantes de los departamentos de WSU, como enterarse de los programas de soporte académico y emocional los cuales sus estudiantes tienen acceso.
- Conversando con otros padres de familia: se ofrece un panel con otros padres de familia que ya han pasado por esta etapa. Esta es una oportunidad para que familia escuchen y pregunten de padre a padre.
- Trabajando Juntos: Este es el único taller en donde el estudiante estará realizando una actividad juntos! En “Las Expectativas Familiares”, la familia comienza a explorar cuales son las expectativas de cada uno con respecto a la nueva etapa del estudiante.
- Transición a la vida estudiantil en el campus: Los padres podrán seguir de Agosto a Mayo, lo que mes a mes sus hijos estarán viviendo en WSU a nivel académico como también emocional.
- Consultoría con el abogado de Inmigración: Esto es único! La familia puede solicitar una cita con el abogado de Inmigración durante La Bienvenida. La consultoría es gratuita.
Con La Bienvenida, puedes:
- Aprender a navegar por el sistema universitario a través de los recursos y programas disponibles, así como también conocer al personal, profesores y otros estudiantes de habla hispana.
- ¡Descubrir lo que significa ser parte de la familia Cougar!
- Conocer a otras familias y simpatizantes de chicanx / latinx.
- Conocer el campus de WSU Pullman, donde vivirá, comerá y asistirá a clases.
Por favor completa lo más pronto posible su registración y así poder recibir un paquete lleno de sorpresas.

La Bienvenida will take place on July 13, 2024.
The cost of attending La Bienvendia is free. Attending an orientation program is mandatory and can be filled by attending La Bienvenida.
La Bienvenida New Coug Orientation is a unique program in Washington State. The program is entirely in Spanish for your family and brings together a spectacular group of Spanish-speaking colleagues who are in the best position to give your family a great WELCOME! We want our Spanish-speaking community to expand its knowledge of how the system works at Washington State University. We know that your children's success is as important to you as it is to us. For this reason, we will work as a team to serve, help and support them on their university journey.
We are very excited to be able to offer you La Bienvenida, an orientation full of programs and services that will help you identify the support for your children in this new stage; and offer that feeling of family that “La Bienvenida” brings.
Workshops include:
- Financial Aid 101 (FAFSA and WASFA) Understanding Your Financial Package: Parents, will have the opportunity to learn about the financial aid process. In addition, they will be able to make an appointment with a bilingual counselor.
- Resources and Programs Fair: You will have the opportunity to speak with different representatives of the WSU departments, including all the academic and emotional support programs available at WSU
- Talking with other parents: a panel is offered with other parents who have already gone through this process. This is an opportunity for the family to listen and ask questions, parent to parent.
- Working Together as a family: This is the only workshop where the student and families do an activity together! In "Family Expectations", the family begins to explore the expectations of each family member for the transition to WSU.
- The Student Life Transition: a month-by-month description of what students experience during their first year.
- Consultation with the Immigration lawyer: This is a unique opportunity! The family can request a free appointment with the Immigration attorney during La Bienvenida.
With La Bienvenida, you can:
- Learn to navigate the university system through available resources and programs, as well as meet Spanish-speaking staff, faculty, and other students.
- Discover what it means to be part of the Cougar family!
- Meet other Chicanx / Latinx families and supporters.
- Get to know the WSU campus, where you will live, eat and attend classes.
Please complete your registration as soon as possible so that you can receive a package full of surprises.
